Our carbon snag ears are not your typical plain black "pultruded" carbon rod, they are roll wrapped carbon fibre with a twill woven outer layer, chosen to match ultra high-end carp rods and carbon bankware. Motorsport grade with a mix of unidirectional, angled and woven layers for ultimate strength. They’re a higher grade of carbon than most rods.
Our titanium snag ears are totally unmatched… arguably, totally unnecessary, but we like to go over the top. There are many grades of Titanium, but we chose Ti-6Al-4V, typically found in jet engines, formula 1 vehicles and surgical equipment.
Our Stainless steel snag ears really walk the walk. Others brag about “extreme 300 series stainless steel” whilst using budget 303 or 304 grades. We use grade 316, why? Because it’s better. It's more corrosion resistant, more durable and retains its superior finish for longer.
Fishing locked up to a snag, a small 10lb carp can put serious strain on your tackle, but if you’re catching 30lb+ carp or big catfish, you need snag ears you can trust. We recently had a 60lb cat pull the rear auger point bankstick out of a hard packed bank when fishing fully locked up, before we could even get a hand on the rod. The snag ears were the only thing that stopped the rod going in the lake
