ATTs Bite Alarm Snag Ears - Carbon Fibre
ATTs Bite Alarm Snag Ears - Carbon Fibre
Carbon Fibre Snag Ears for ATTs Bite Alarms. Take your Carp Fishing Setup to the Next Level
Durable, Long Lasting, Premium Snag Ears Created by Mechanical Engineers, Using Only High Quality Materials.
Our tailored Snag Ears for the ATTs bite alarm are the outcome of designing without limits on manufacturability or material costs. Designed for the ATTs alarms without compromise, whether you have the underlit ATTs IW or the classic ATT alarm, they're a perfect match to level up your carp fishing setup. Typically, snag ears interfere with the ATTs hard cover, but our trusted Mag Clip system makes snag ears like this possible. Each Snag Ear is supplied with a Mag Clip and set of screws.
Carbon Fibre
Our carbon snag ears are not your typical plain black carbon rod, they are 3k twill woven motorsport grade carbon, chosen to match ultra high-end carp rods and carbon bankware. With a mix of unidirectional, angled and woven layers for ultimate strength, they’re a higher grade of carbon than most rods.
Convenience, durability, performance
- The carbon snag ears utilise our Mag Clip system, trusted for over 6 years by hundreds or ATTs users as a massive improvement over the ATTs hard covers
- The woven carbon fibre snag ears are fitted to a beautifully engineered carbon fibre reinforced polymer base which is contoured to match the back of the alarm
- The highest possible material grades used throughout
- Ultimate confidence in keeping your rods on your alarms, in all cases
- Uses the existing back cover screw holes for secure mounting, supplied with screws
Keeping your carp rod on your bite alarms
You could argue that you don’t need motorsport grade carbon fibre to keep your rods on your alarms, but snag ears are necessary for a number of carp fishing scenarios. Even on bite alarms with tall ears such as ATTs, Fox RX, Fox MX, Fox Mini Micron X and similar, rods can easily come off the alarms in these scenarios:
- Bounce - fishing close in, erratic bites where the carp turns close in and ‘plucks’ the line with its body can bounce rods off rests
- BIG fish - fishing locked up to a snag, a small 10lb carp can put serious strain on your tackle, but if you’re catching 30lb+ carp or big catfish, you need snag ears you can trust. We recently had a 60lb cat pull the rear auger point bankstick out of a hard packed bank when fishing fully locked up, before we could even get a hand on the rod. The snag ears were the only thing that stopped the rod going in the lake
- Low tips on shallow lakes - Sometimes fishing low tips is necessary due to bankside vegetation, birds, and stealth. It is these scenarios where the rod can lift off the alarm and disaster follows if there is nothing to stop it.
- Butt grips give up - Snag fishing is tense, risky, and deserves redundancy. If your rod comes out of your butt grips, which they often do when wet, your snag ears are your last line of defence to snag your reel and stop your rod from going in the lake.
Additional Tips for Snag Fishing
- Try to avoid fishing with your line exiting the tip at 90 degrees
- Use long bank sticks for deeper ground penetration, but keep them low to avoid the risk of rod bounce
- Use bankstick stabilisers in soft ground
- Auger point banksticks can dig deeper and hold firmer
- Bite alarms with rubber inlays where the rod contacts are surprisingly effective
- Butt grips that you can trust are a must

How are they priced so competitively?
Consider the cost of hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer with over a decade of industry experience in Motorsport and Medical Device design, a sales and marketing expert, a field tester, workshop technicians, website builders, social media team and everyone else required to bring a product to market. All of that costs a lot, but here at Prototype Tackle, it’s just me, Nick. I’m all of the above and luckily I enjoy working 80 hour weeks to make this happen.

Excellent quality
After having the mag clips, I purchased the ATTs snag ears and I have to say they are better than anything the "big" name tackle brands could create. These ideas are ingenious. Perfect A*****
Great idea, and very well made. Many thanks.
